Lisa was married in 2006 and at that time moved to Kansas. In 2006 she was hired by the Shawnee Mission School District as an Early Childhood Speech and Language Pathologist and she continues in this role today. Lisa has written two grants that received funding through the Shawnee Mission Education Foundation for Excellence in Education related to the use of video modeling. Video modeling involves taking a video of a child engaging in desired behaviors (communication, self-help, social, and/or play skills) in a form of observation learning the child watches and then can re-create the observed task/skill. The grant was selected as Kansas In-service Training System (KITS) Best Practice Award Winner for the Shawnee Mission Early Childhood Special Education Program for 2014-15.
